Founded in 2005 by Kris Schumacher and Stephanie Stremer, PKU & Allied Disorders of Wisconsin is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization designed to promote advocacy, education, support, research, and other services related to the complete treatment of PKU and related Disorders.
With the guidance of dietician Sally Gleason and support of PKU mothers Sue Richards, Sue Schumacher, Lynn Stremer, and Ann Zimmerman, the first meeting was held on February 12, 2005 with 11 people in attendance. Since our first meeting, our organization has seen steady growth, now boasting over 175 members
As PADOW moves into the future, we hope to continue our tradition of addressing the needs of individuals and families coping with metabolic and related disorders.
