PADOW Events 2009
Winter Splash 2009Once again our conference was a complete success! Thanks in part to our speakers, Dr. Dimmock, Dr. Rice, and Karl Mason from BioMarin, Winter Splash was the biggest conference yet. A more relaxed schedule allowed for more time with the vendors, and a lunch that was hosted in PADOW’s suite made for a relaxed setting where new and old families were able to meet up and make the connections that are so important among our community.
April 18 - Cambrooke Cooking EventIn conjuction with the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and PADOW, Cambrooke Foods representative Erica presented PKU recipes that families could use for everyday meals before turning it over to the participants for group cooking. Assisting the groups of PADOW families, Professor Judie Pffiffner and her students made valuable connections, while get hands on life experience with PKU. After the event, PADOW members were invited back, so stay tuned as we plan to partner with UW-Stevens Point in the near future.
August 8th - Mallards BaseballFor the second year, PADOW and the Madison Mallards joined together to help raise money for events and projects to benefit our members. Through our Penny Drive, volunteers and fans helped raise more than last year, getting us over half way to our Penny Drive goal for 2009 of $400.
Upcoming Events
Summer/Fall Picnic 2009This year is the year of change, at least for the picnic. This year, we will be having our picnic at Riverside Park in Neenah, Vendors will have tables, and you’ll be able to enjoy everyone’s company while you relax and leave the cooking to us! Along with the old grilled favorites, another favorite, our famous Build your Own Taco Salad bar, returns due to overwhelming responses. Come join us for a wonderful afternoon in Neenah. Invitations will be mailed closer to the event, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Regional Bake Sales October - DecemberWith the assistance of all clinics in the state, volunteers will host Bake sales in each of the clinics regions to help raise money for families who need assistance to attend the conference. The proceeds from each bake sale will be used for the clinic in which the bake sale was held. Donations from patients and their families of the each clinic will be requested to help make each sale as successful as possible. The high the proceeds for each bake sale, the more families we can help.
Winter Splash 2010PADOW is happy to announce that Winter Splash 2010 will once again be held at Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
